THE JASMINE PIVOT

I’m Jasmine Dixon-Norman, and if there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s that changing direction doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Sometimes, it simply means you’ve learned enough to realize you want something different.

I’m a wife, mom of three, homeschool mom, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner. I earned my bachelor’s degree as an adult and am currently finishing my MBA while navigating family, career decisions, entrepreneurship, and the very real question of what I want the next chapter of my life to look like.

My journey hasn’t followed one perfectly straight career path. I’ve worked across education, hospitality, healthcare, operations, customer service, property management, and administration. For a long time, I thought having such a varied background meant I needed to figure out which box I belonged in.

Eventually, I realized maybe I was never supposed to fit into just one.

Building, Learning & Pivoting

One of my biggest dreams has been building Seven Seas Academy, a small, globally focused private school centered on meaningful learning experiences, small classes, and a broader view of the world.

Building it has also taught me that a dream and a deadline aren’t the same thing. Funding, facilities, enrollment, staffing, and timing have required me to adjust my original plans more than once.

And that’s become part of my story too.

Sometimes moving forward means pushing harder. Sometimes it means recognizing that the original plan needs to change.

At the same time, I’m rethinking what success looks like for me personally. I’m less interested in chasing titles simply because they’re supposed to represent the next step. I want meaningful work, financial stability, flexibility, experiences with my family, and greater freedom over where and how we live.

Why The Jasmine Pivot?

I created The Jasmine Pivot because I couldn’t possibly be the only woman asking herself:

What if I want something different now?

Maybe you’re changing careers. Returning to school. Raising children while pursuing dreams of your own. Starting a business. Trying to improve your finances. Considering a major move. Or simply realizing that the version of success you once wanted doesn’t quite fit anymore.

This is where I’m sharing those conversations honestly, the successes, setbacks, research, decisions, lessons, and pivots happening along the way.

I’m not here because I’ve figured everything out.

That’s actually the point.

I’m not writing from the finish line. I’m writing while I’m building.
